Where are you right now?

Burnout exists on a spectrum

You don’t have to hit rock bottom to deserve support. Wherever you are on this spectrum, therapy can help.

Stage 1

Overextended

Always tired, saying yes when you mean no, running behind

Stage 2

Stagnation

Going through the motions, feeling flat, losing motivation

Stage 3

Full Burnout

Chronic exhaustion, emotional detachment, can’t imagine recovering

Stage 4

Recovery

Rebuilding with support — this is where therapy takes you

Many people arrive at therapy in Stage 2 or 3. It’s never too early — or too late — to reach out.

You might be experiencing…

Burnout can creep up slowly, and then suddenly it’s debilitating.

High-achievers are often the last to recognize burnout in themselves. Because you’ve always pushed through before, it can feel like this time you’re failing, rather than hitting your limit.

If you’ve been telling yourself you just need to “push through” or “take a vacation,” but nothing seems to touch the exhaustion, burnout therapy offers something deeper: the chance to actually change the patterns, not just recover enough to repeat them.

  • Constant exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix
  • Feeling disconnected from work, relationships, or yourself
  • Cynicism or irritability that feels out of character
  • Decreased productivity despite working longer hours
  • Physical symptoms — headaches, illness, tension, poor sleep
  • A sense of dread when you think about the week ahead
  • Difficulty feeling positive emotions — numbness or flatness
  • Neglecting things that used to bring you joy
  • Feeling like you’re failing everyone, including yourself
  • Wondering if this is just “how it is now”
How we work together

Recovery isn’t about “powering through”

Burnout recovery requires a different approach. We need to go beyond simply resting and address the root causes.

01

Understand what depleted you

We explore internal and external conditions that led to burnout. Often, it’s a combination of overload and patterns like perfectionism, people-pleasing, and difficulty setting limits.

02

Rebuild from the ground up

Using emotion-focused therapy and CBT, we work to restore your sense of self, your relationship with your body, and your capacity to feel enjoyment and rest again.

03

Change what needs to change

Recovery that lasts requires shifts in how you relate to work, to others, and to yourself. Gabby helps you identify and make those changes sustainably in order to ensure the cycle doesn’t begin again.

“You were not just born to center your entire existence on work and labor. You were born to heal, to grow, to be of service to yourself and community, to practice, to experiment, to create, to have space, to dream, and to connect.”
— Tricia Hersey, Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto
The process

Starting is simpler than it feels

When you’re exhausted, even reaching out can feel like too much. Gabby makes it easy to take that first step.

1

Free 15-minute consultation

A quick, 15-minute call to share what’s going on and see if therapy with me feels like the right fit. You don’t have to have it all figured out to reach out.

2

First full session

Your first session is about being heard. I’ll create space for you to share your history with burnout, and we’ll discuss when it started, how it’s affecting your life, and what you’re hoping to find on the other side.

3

A personalized recovery plan

Together, we’ll identify what needs to shift, both inside and out, and build a path forward that actually accounts for your real life and your real constraints.

4

Gradual, sustainable recovery

Real burnout recovery takes time. Regular sessions build on each other, and you’ll slowly start noticing a shift back into feeling like yourself.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist · Virginia

I work with people who have been carrying more than their share for a long time — college students, young professionals, and emerging adults who are capable, driven, and utterly depleted. I understand that high-achievers often resist asking for help, and I meet clients exactly where they are.

I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed my internship at the College of William & Mary’s Counseling Center. I see adults 18+ virtually across Virginia.
